Prospect of first team football tips balance given competition for places at Atletico

Atletico Madrid and Sevilla have concluded a deal for the Argentina midfielder Matias Kranevitter to join the Andalusian club on loan for the season.
Sevilla's new boss, fellow Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, was the driving force behind the move, though it generated some internal debate at Atletico given that it would strengthen a direct rival.
Kranevitter is highly regarded but Atletico boast a wealth of options in the centre of the pitch.
The former River Plate man has had to compete with the likes of Gabi, Augusto Fernandez and Tiago since arriving in January and the club has ultimately decided that first team football with the Europa League holders would be the best thing for the player's development.
