n Saturday afternoon, Sevilla finally gave official confirmation of the signing of Brazilian playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso following Sao Paulo's elimination from the Copa Libertadores during the week.

A previous winner of that same competition alongside Neymar at Santos in 2011, Ganso arrives at the Andalusian club on a five year contract for a total fee of 10 million to be divided up between the club and the sports investment fund DIS.

The Brazilian was signed after the express request of new coach Jorge Sampaoli and has been capped eight times by Brazil as well as featuring for the Olympic team which finished runner-up to Mexico in 2012 in London.

He missed his side's midweek defeat to Colombia's Atletico Nacional in the semi-finals of South America's premier club competition due to a thigh strain, but his medical and signature are expected to be mere formalities at this stage.

The attacking midfielder registered 24 goals and 49 assists during his 221 games at Sao Paulo, who he joined in 2012.
